My love was deep, my love was true
Forever mine – if I only knew
What fate would bring, what time would do
To make this Red, so damn blue

I pledged my soul, to the end of time
To my dying breath – for there was no sign
Of the things to come, at this club of mine
That’s rocked my faith, put me in decline

I stood with friends, sang long and loud
Roared on the boys, defiant and proud
But things have changed, look at this crowd
A million faces, but not one sound

The working man’s not welcome here
Champagne’s replaced the pies and beer
For ‘Corporate’ is the game this year

Advertisements all round the ground
Businessmen from out of town
No seat for less than £30
Pay up, shut up, sit down!
