Top-Notch Kawasak’

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Wayne Rooney roared up on a top-notch Kawasak’.
One thousand CCs, just think what kind of punch it packed.
He said: “Ta ta, you Toffees. I ain’t never comin’ back!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Wayne Rooney rolled up on his Two Wheels full of swank.
We cried: “Flippin’ ‘eck! Have you just been and robbed a bank?”
He sneered: “I ain’t no Scouser! From now on Rooney is a Manc!”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Rooney, Rooney, you know, we still cannot believe,
That you could do that to us, shoot off and join M.U.F.C.
You quipped: “Bye bye, Bluenoses. I’ll soon be playing at O.T.”

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Rooney, Rooney, you would not hear our pleas.
Though you could plainly see how much our broken hearts did bleed.
Revved up your Kwaka, and left us all alone to weep.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 One year has passed now since you rode off on that Kawasak’.
And we’ve some words for you, so please prick up your two ears, wack.
We say: “Who needs Wayne Rooney? We don’t ever want you back!”

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 2/9/05

Notes

To mark the first anniversary of Wayne Rooney’s transfer to Manchester United, here is a re-working of a song by The Clash entitled Brand New Cadillac. I do not know what means of transport Mr Rooney chose when he first moved to Manchester, but for my own poetic purposes, I find it fruitful to imagine him taking leave of the tearful Evertonians while sitting astride a 1000CC Kawasaki.
