Walk

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The long walk home from the glorious ground
Feet either stamping down or floating on air
Head still filled with each sight and sound
Eyes can be smiling or looking down with a stare.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The cars pass by full of light and heat
With people who don’t know how I feel
So I’d rather be out here walking on the street
Contemplating all that is past with fervour and zeal.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The long walk home always greater than I expect
Mouths moving all around but I can’t hear what they’re saying
Hands stuck in my pockets as I continually dissect
Mind working overtime for so long it has been baying.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The cars pass by with ferocity and pace
Replicating the pugnacity of the game I’ve just left
They’re all packed in while I’m out here in space
When I arrive home once more I am bereft.
