We May Be Under-Dogs…

We may be under-dogs
Don’t count us out,
We thrive on adversity
Just look at our record,
’86, gate locked,
Obituary written,
Minutes from liquidation
Like phoenix,
Boro rose from the brink,
To Riverside
Lifted the Carling Cup
UEFA Cup final
FA Cup semi-final.

We may be under-dogs
Don’t count us out,
Games that ought to be bankers
Often turn out to be banana skins,
We have reputation as
North-East’s cup kings,
To protect,
Boro go to Stadium of Light
With three straight defeats
Paper thin squad
Stretched to the limit
Against Premiership opposition on the boil
When Boro are the under-dogs
We always manage to raise our game
Ask Manchester United.
