I first went to Chelsea in ‘78
And stood with the fans in the Shed
Where trouble makers and hooligans
Took their places, it was said.

I clearly brought the team no luck;
They finished bottom of the pile.
It then took five very long years
To escape Division Two exile.
¶ 3

When the Shed was demolished in ‘94
To the Matthew Harding I did head,
And now it is the away fans
Who sit in what once was the Shed.

So when the away fans are singing
‘Where were you when you were fit?’
The answer is plain and simple;
I was standing where you now sit.
