Where were you when you were fit?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I first went to Chelsea in ‘78
And stood with the fans in the Shed
Where trouble makers and hooligans
Took their places, it was said.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I clearly brought the team no luck;
They finished bottom of the pile.
It then took five very long years
To escape Division Two exile.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 When the Shed was demolished in ‘94
To the Matthew Harding I did head,
And now it is the away fans
Who sit in what once was the Shed.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So when the away fans are singing
‘Where were you when you were fit?’
The answer is plain and simple;
I was standing where you now sit.

Notes

We like this clever poem. especially with the ‘fit’ reference..how apt and a good home/away end point made..Apologies it slipped through the net un-intentinoally ..and thus appeared in the un-approved un-edited version first .! This adaptation with Su’s approval! Editors
