1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 France v Germany in Warrington, raining cats and dogs!
The blue and red of La Belle France need only to draw
against the white of Germany, already in the semi-final,
to advance ahead of Denmark playing Italy at Deepdale.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But French forward Pichon doesn’t take a dive when fouled
by German goalie Rottenburg — all credit to her! The German
steamroller kicks into gear, one goal, two, three! France are
out and Denmark advances. The Lancashire sun comes out.

France fall to second half blast
Euro 2005 Women’s Football News 13 Jun 2005

Germany 3 (Grings 71, Lingor pen 75, Minnert 83)
France 0
at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington

“Three games, three wins, eight goals scored, none conceded – can anyone stop Germany? The World Champions produced three goals in twelve second half minutes to power to victory but the consequences were catastrophic for France – who had been one of the strongest looking teams who are now on their way home.”
