Die Bayern team fired up
Peps ex protégés were lack lustre,
Staid and in a rut.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Jupp Heynckes clever strategy
For that short pass Barca game
Left their lauded midfield floundering
In a swamp where it hadn’t rained?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Lightning give and goes are crucial
To Lionel Messi and his mates
But The Allianz ain’t The Camp Nou
With that lush green hallowed baize.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 At four nought, they was lucky
I shouted Penalty out loud twice
As Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery
Raced down wings where wingers thrive.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Bayern simply oozed with class
Despite a doctored pitch
When playing Guardiola’s game on grass
Next year, Die Bayern could be Kings?

For what should be a wonderful second game
And should Heynckes take Die Bayern through
Will he toast his groundsman’s name?

Notes

Clever bit of gamesmanship here by Die Bayern groundstaff and no messing (sic). That ticky tack game or whatever the pundits like to call it, which Barca play, needs decent ground to flow on, and last night it deffo didn’t get that as the midfield at The Allianz stadium was flooded with water beforehand to slow both the ball and the Barca game right down. Well it worked didn’t it?

Make no mistake Die Bayern (The Bavarians) are a class outfit and would have won anyway I feel, but this is a pretty cute ploy is it not!

I’ve seen Sir Alferg ordering his ground-staff to do this in a televised documentary on him, a few years ago, prior to a Champions League tie so it’s nothing new is it?

If Die Bayern are red hot at the moment, then what’s gonna happen when Pep Guardiola turns up in Bavaria next year?
