a prisoner of our plenary plight
but he must chase back
and hence, his hurried flight

he must do box to box
and in doing so successfully
he holds the key, to Fort Knox

and there has to be a result stolen
a theft of magnitude
a lock picked, a points tally swollen

He’s on the run
and there has to be a finish afforded
an end product yielded
a plus one, in the ‘goals for’ recorded

Now if he runs to us
chest-a-thumping and arms aloft
then we’ll take him to our collective bosom
and metaphorically, caps will be doffed!
