A Belgie Fan Fell Asleep.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Gary Limited, dissing Belanov,
For his missed out Golden Boot
Kinda set the tone from kick off
For a boring football afternoon.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The finest crop or Belgian youngsters
Since the French lads from Clear-fontaine
Expected to over-run the aging Russians
Under Fabio Capello’s reign.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As all armchair experts reading this
Know full well to our cost
There ain’t no easy games or an easy street
When The World Cup comes along.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Russia denied an early pen (How many now, is that?)
Were collective as a team
While Belgie ace Lukaku needs so sharpen up his act
Or the dug-out’s where he’ll be.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A point blank header missed by Russia
Was high point of a boring half
As Belgie fans were heard to mutter
“Origi’s simply gotta start”.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Well the speeding kid finally did
Get his chance to strut his stuff
While Lukaku threw a hissy fit
When Wilmot’s signalled tug him off.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 I’m even getting tired composing this poem
Oh and a Belgie fan fell asleep
Eden Hazard unlocked the Russians on his own
For Origi to smash the winner in.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 So it’s maximum points for Belgie
and as a game lasts ninety minutes
Unless they quickly grasp that fact, I’ve a feeling
It isn’t just Lukaku who’ll be throwing hissy fits.

Notes

I was really looking forward to this game,
But Belgium did not obviously feel the same,
As they rarely threatened anything of substance
Or indeed Fabio Capellos fading Russians.

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
