of Iambic Pentameter (a sub somewhere surely?!)
each strike at goal
captured with a couplet
each thudding challenge
hacked-up with haiku
every save glorified in heavily gloved stanzas
and every winning game
celebrated with a lyrical laurel
pity then that England
draw neither
quotation nor quarrel!
