A Bleak Midwinter for Coventry City F.C.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’ve been given until Boxing Day
to pay all the rent we owe
and if it’s not paid by then
I’m afraid it’s out the door you go.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But I’m not talking about myself
but my club Coventry City F.C.
financially it’s in a terrible mess
skint, broke, and sadly not debt free.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So it leaves us fans stressed out
worrying on the future of our club
that’s all people are talking about
at work, on the streets, and in the pub.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We should have stayed at Highfield Road
at least we owned our own ground
the club was financially stable
and we owed the Taxman not a single pound.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But we are just humble supporters
when did our feelings mean a thing ?
our job is to just keep on turning up
and get behind the team and sing.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So our future is so uncertain
as everything is clouded in doubt
but all us fans can do right now is,
either chew our nails or scream and shout !

Notes

It’s crunch time here in Coventry right now as our club is in a financial meltdown.

But this what happens when you don’t own the ground you play your Football on.

As usual all parties involved are blaming each other for the mess, but we thought it had been sorted out.

Anyway they’ve got till Boxing Day to pay up or we are without a ground !

The club say they will look to play somewhere else, if the worst comes to the worse, but where ?

Rumour has it that could be at Nuneaton’s ground, or the Coventry Rugby Club.

Us hardcore fans will go wherever we end up, but as usual Football fans get treated like dog dirt and it’s like we don’t even exist.
