A Day At The Seaside

Went to Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road
To watch the Sky Blues play
Eighteen hundred of us in party mood
Because the game fell on a bank holiday.

But as usual the team let us down
They quickly removed the smiles from our face
The manager said the players weren’t up for it
Which to us travelling supporters is a disgrace.

What if us fans “weren’t up for it ? ”
Turning up but not bothering about our team
We all came along for the football
Not the Pleasure Beach, or candy floss and ice-cream.

Fair play though to the Blackpool fans
In their old fashioned half built ground
There may not be a lot of them
But what they’ve got, make a really good sound.

A lot of our fans decided to stay over
But the rest of us had seen about enough
Because our teams performance was like the sea
Very very choppy, and very very rough !
