Bill Dean

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 That blessed head
Netting goals
Like fishes and loaves
Galilee’s fishermen
Looked on in envy
For by the banks of the Mersey
You were catching men’s souls.

Editor’s Note :

William Ralph Dean, (Jan 22 1907 – March 1 1980), born in Birkenhead.

Everton’s legendary goalscorer, he was the only English player to have scored over 60 goals in one season (1927/28).
He scored a total of 349 goals for Everton.

Better known by his famous nickname, which apparently he hated.
In deference, Parry has chosen not to use it.
