Don’t Get Carried Away

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 That’s two away wins in a week
and they scored five on Saturday
now they can climb up the table
yes, but don’t get carried away.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I like the look of our new left back
he really knows how to play
as good as we’ve had for years
yes, but don’t get carried away.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our new manager is starting to settle in
so far I reckon he’s done okay
but he needs time to put things right
yes, but don’t get carried away.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We’ve got the best striker in this division
and I hear he really wants to stay
he’s scoring goals just for fun
yes, but don’t get carried away.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The fans are starting to feel optimistic
Blue skies replacing clouds of Grey
they feel the team is moving upwards
yes, but don’t get carried away.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So you never know what can happen
maybe reach the play offs in May
get back up into the Championship

A week is a long time in Politics I think the quotation goes ?
But the same can be said for Football too,as a couple of losses and fans start to feel grumpy,but two wins and they’re happy again.
Talking about my team to a fellow fan in the shop I said things are looking a bit better,but he replies yes they are, but let’s not get carried away now. Which inspired this effort !
He is right of course,but we have to have hope don’t we ?
