Horn Free -Let It Blow

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 it’s name evokes some Greek goddess
and has no plan to cause distress
but oft when blown they do complain
about this background to the game
we cannot trace it’s origin
but can confirm it’s mighty din
Did it descend ancestrally
or from some Chinese factory?
this tribal sound could be fantastic
if only it weren’t made of plastic

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 let’s hear it for that wondrous horn
still heard above the wildest storm
let’s hear it for Vuvuzelas
more piercing than the usual cars
so colourful they nag or please
like swarms of irritating bees

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 let’s hear it for the girls and boys
who love to make this blaring noise
but let them blow across the lands
and let us hold them in our hands
for all the world to hear and see
as nations rise as one – horn free
let us not bow to laws or change
and blow our own trumpets…… for a change!

Visit Time To Mute The Viuvuzela Horn?- The Guardian 20.6.09

The Vuvuzela is a colourful plastic trumpet that is currently causing a stir in South Africa .It’s been used and heard by fans during Confederations Cup in South Africa and makes a terrific din , making TV coverage difficult, to say the least!. With the World Cup ahead …questions are being raised ,they’ll stop us singing or talking loudly next.
