He was one of our own
From the day he first signed
Bred like a thoroughbred colt
Never been known to moan
Even sat on on the side-lines
An integral part of the group in a coat.

So for the wonderful times
and great victories
Titles and Cups that you shared
For taking the line
In times of adversity
Of really showing the punters you cared.

The shedload (sic) of goals
That you scored from midfield
Every season bar none for the team
Wonderful wins on the road
Whilst your penalty yield
Was the gem of a managers dream.

Now the day has arrived
As it will do
When age deems it time to move on
So it’s not just goodbye
But we’ll be seeing you soon
Sometime in the future – Frankie me shun.

Partings like this
Can sometimes be sombre
Poignant and terribly hard
So I’ll close this missive
As a bloke often sat enraptured in wonder
At: Super Frank, Super Frank, Super Frankie Lampard.
