The Springtime of Arsenal

These could be
the best days of our lives
when the glorious spring arrives

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We see the gold light in the distance
so must continue to burn the fire
we’ll need a lot of persistence
for the three cups which we desire

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The spring is near, its days away
these moments we’ll have to ponder
because this Saturday
will require an awesome display
against Bolton and their Wanderers

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Play each match as if it were the first
because there are still many to play
the stage is set, the team has rehearsed
opponents come and show your worst
and we’ll show you the Arsenal way

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The League Cup is the big domestic one
and we’re closest to winning that title
we have a 9-point gap
and won’t fall into last year’s trap
a few more victories will be vital

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The FA Cup is polished up
it’s resting well where it belongs
win it thrice, I think yup
and Gooners will sing their Cardiff songs

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 But there are two more hurdles to overcome
the first a semi-final against Man United
a once worthy opponent who are now divided
so a place in Cardiff I know they’ll succumb

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 The biggest Cup in my eyes
is the best team’s ultimate prize
the Champions League would be the best
even Mancs would be surprised
and Spurs fans would be impressed
perhaps so too would Dennis Wise

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 The road lies ahead with twists and turns
yet the springtime is usually sunny
a team can only collect what it earns
and they’ll be cups of milk and honey

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Join in you Gunners, enjoy the ride
get behind Paddy and co.
wait for that great feeling inside
and bask in that Arsenal glow
