The Jubilee celebrations are finally over
our Queen’s had her Fifteen minutes of fame
now it’s football’s turn to to take centre stage
as millions of Europeans watch the Beautiful Game.

England for once are really unfancied
which to be honest feels a little strange
usually us fans are full of high expectations
but it does make a refreshing change.

Roy Hodgson hasn’t been in charge very long
but he seems confident and in control
you get the feeling he’ll play it safe
but who cares if we win by a single goal ?

Spain are the Red hot favourites once again
with their passing football and exquisite touch
but even though I hate to have to say this
don’t underestimate the Germans or the Dutch.

But we’ll all be down the pubs and clubs
decked out in St.George’s Red and White
and even though we know we won’t win it
please England don’t go out without a fight.
