Try To Let Go

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I try to let go and accept that you’ve gone.
But sometimes I cry, like it’s still day one.
‘Hillsborough’ hits home on New Year’s Day.
For nearly 25 years, they’ve kept justice at bay.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I try to let go, but still call out your name.
If only justice was ours, it might ease the pain.
Why should a football match take you away?
It looks my flowing tears will be here to stay.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I try to let go, and leave all the past behind.
But it’s hard to do, with more answers to find.
Another year behind us, more hope, but delay.
It still hurts to hear what certain people say.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 In the year 2014, we’ll enter a crucial stage.
Hopefully we’ll rewrite forever histories page.
For now, it’s hard to let go on New Year’s Day.
As I visit the memorial, with my flower to lay.
