Up For The Cup

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 2 The Sky Blues were the underdogs
not given much of a chance,
up against Wolves of the Premier
who would surely lead them a merry dance.
But the City had other ideas
a team that just never gives up,
even when they went 2-1 down
they were still up for the Cup.
Wolves thought it was game over
their fans started to celebrate,
yet the Sky Blues kept on pressing
but maybe it was now far too late ?
Nine minutes added on at the end
then Simms heads the equaliser in,
and us supporters then go nuts
when Wright scores and the City win.
Our fans will be there in their thousands
a mass of sky blue down Wembley Way,
and though Manchester United are favourites
I’ve a feeling it’s going to be our day !

What a day it was at Molineux on Saturday and I’m still on a high. I was there and I’d been saying all week we’d win, but when they got it to 2-1 late on I admit I thought we’d blown it. But what a comeback and what a winner from Wright, a top class finish.
I’m remaining positive the Sky Blues will reach the final, but whatever happens its been another great season. PUSB
