Kids on the terraces
wooden Rattles in hand
back in the days
when it was fine to stand.

The atmosphere electric
crowds packed in tight
a sea of Sky Blue
what an awesome sight.

The Jimmy Hill revolution
a breath of fresh air
he gave us the good times
so glad I was there.

He put Coventry on the map
and in the top flight
back then we all thought
our future was bright.

But our spiritual home went
our beloved Highfield Road
which us fans were so proud
to call our Football abode.

Fast forward to the present
and our club’s in despair
Sky Blue supporters feeling anxious
but do the men in suits give a care ?

But whatever the outcome
be it good news or not
nobody can ever take from me
the great memories I’ve got.
