Derby Day Fanter.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Touching seventy, wizened, livid as sin
Nicotine dentures, knotted scarf, curlers in
By the time, a breath-gasping interval came
Down,“The Lane”, midst an exasperating game
She’d hordes a South West Londoners querying…
Our legitimacy, at birth, in the main?

Notes

Kept this poem as squeaky as poss, in order to get said published. That aside, any punter ever attended a derby, having ear-oled the rapid spur (sic) of the moment fanter being bandied about, will catch my drift I’m sure? The Lane. Nick-name for White Hart Lane, former home of Tottenham Hotspur, or Spurs. No idea what their new stadium is called? Simply because, I’m not remotely interested…to be honest.
Fanter. Fan banter. Just made up that word. Lumme! Am I a clever clogs or what?

Peace.

Stay sage, come what may, raise both hands, grasp the day.
