1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The sales are nearly here
so who will come and go,
how about a decent striker
to replace the one that’s really slow ?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 What about a tough tackling defender
to bring some steel to your back four ?
as your full back’s a little bit soft
and needs to be shown the door.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 You could do with a tricky winger
who’s fast and nippy on the ball,
and while you’re out shopping
buy a centre back who’s big and tall.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And you need a decent keeper
as your goalie is error prone,
no wonder he’s called butterfingers
can’t you shift him out on loan ?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Finally you should get a strong captain
a leader with lots of style and flair,
not like your skipper this season
who’s more concerned with his tan and hair.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So ” seven ” new players should do the trick
to make you into a decent football team,
because if not you’re certs for relegation
instead of your unrealistic promotion dream !

Notes

As fans we hope our clubs splash the cash this January sale, but lots are so strapped for money many will hardly buy anybody.

My club need a couple of defenders to tighten up our dodgy back four as we are lethal up front so don’t need strikers.

You can guarantee bids will come in for one or two of our players, and knowing our track record they will be accepted if the price is right.

It irritates you but what can you do when you’re a selling club ?
