I’ve sighed, cried,
Been verbally crucified
At my choice of local team
Some weeks, we were simply bad
Other weeks?……Extremely

When fair weather fans changed alliegance
I stood, stoutly proud
When mediocrity was our striker
I cheered him, out aloud

When things went wrong
I sat upon, my seat, with head in hands
Why did I, do all these things?
Cos I’m a football fan

Now change has come
The games are fun, match days no longer dark
The suits have all returned of course
To them its just a lark

If it all goes pear shaped tomorrow
As it could, cos that is fate
I’d still be here to cheer them on
Along with all me mates

Thick skinned is what we are
Belief in the dreams of our chosen team, will spur us on
