What if Groundhog Day wasn’t Groundhog Day

What if religion hadn’t been invented,
What if Spartacus hadn’t have relented,
What if the Peasants hadn’t stopped revolting,
What if the Diggers hadn’t stopped their plotting,
What if slavery hadn’t been accepted,
What if the workers hadn’t been exploited,
What if England had gone and beat Brazil,
Gone and scored a hatful, won by 5 to nil,
Played inventive football, fast and yet precise,
And they’d kept possession, not just once or twice,
Then we all know what would happen,
Despair would be our fate,
A Final loss to Germany,
A penno by South-gate.
