1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 People struggling to pay bills
not enough money to go round,
some queuing for foodbanks
and down to their last pound.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 People struggling to get by
finding it hard to make ends meet,
and because many can’t pay the rent
they get evicted and end up on the street.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 People struggling even those with jobs
as their wages are far too low,
but the working class are ignored
by a government who doesn’t want to know.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 People struggling to understand
why a footballer who kicks a ball,
can get paid obscene amounts of money
while their weekly income is so small ?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 People struggling and becoming angry
at football’s affluence and wealth,
while the likes of Rooney are becoming richer
many are hungry and in bad health.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 People struggling and in despair
as they worry how they can pay,
but please spare a thought for Wayne Rooney
who’s only got thousands to spend each day !

Notes

No wonder people are up in arms when they hear about the money the likes of Rooney and many footballers are getting paid.

It has become obscene and even though we love football I know it embarrasses me when I read about what Rooney is going to get for just kicking a ball about.

Surgeons who perform life saving surgery are the only ones who probably deserve such vast amounts, and even then it would be too high.

Then again the people who should be brought to task are those who set these wages for footballers, as they must be living on another planet !
