No Prize for Seventh Place

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Four goals short was all we were
Four goals more to play for the prize
With only one striker for half the season
I suppose lack of goals is no surprise.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 As I reflect on last November
When it all went horribly wrong
Wasted chances, points given away
Left us nervous all season long.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The playoffs came so tantalisingly close
For finishing seventh there is no prize
Now Bakary Sako leaves on a free
It’s enough to bring tears to your eyes.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But at least we now have Benik Afobe
Who’s scored more goals than Harry Kane
I can’t help but feel Wenger’s made a blunder
But never mind, his loss is our gain.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 At least Molineux is alive again
And if Kenny uses his magical powers
And makes some good summer signings
Then next season the Championship’s ours!
