The Lady is a Fan

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s that quizzical look on the faces
That gets me every time,
When I tell them I write about football
And I do it in words that can rhyme.
Is it because I’m a woman
That they don’t understand why I do,
But when they read what I write
It then gives some insight
To the fact that I do have a clue.
First there was ‘Wolves’ and then Fulham,
And then there was Durban United,
When I married a footballer
Way back in the day,
My family was more than delighted.
Those days are long past and I’m now on my own,
But my love of the game is still strong,
So when I write about football
I know that for me
I’m in a place where I really belong.
