When we were winning two-nil,
The sun was shining bright.
The sky was blue as blue can be,
No dark clouds were in sight.

I munched my half-time hotdog,
And sipped my Bovril sweet.

There’s five and forty left to play,
The match ain’t over yet.
There’s still time for that ball to find
Its way into our net…”

I clapped and cheered with glee.

We’re filing out the Ground.
And pitch-black clouds blot out the sun,
A cold rain buckets down.

But three-two we got beat…
