His voice is mellowed gold,
He’s just a regular guy.
His tones are so controlled
As the game marches by.
He’ll condemn every cheat,
And he never tells lies,
Admires dancing feet,
He’s got Barry Davies eyes.

Now he’s tired,
He’s retired,
See all the commentators he’s sired.
Entertained us,
Never pained us,
Though his decibels often drained us.
He’s emotive,
He’s got Barry Davies eyes.

He views things cannily,
Describes them with grace,
Except for Franny Lee,
Just look at his face.
He can show respect
Or cut you down to size,
Direct or indirect,
He’s got Barry Davies eyes.
