1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 You spend a few years waiting
And the results finally swings your way.
It feels as good as you expect it to be
And maybe the wait made it feel even better.
It’s only the first qualifying round and yet you
Already dream of coach trips and humbled giants.
You can even forget about the domestic side of things
For right now is about letting your fantasies run away with you.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And after all that build-up, all the hoping, all the talk
Of ending hoodoo’s and starting new beginnings…
It starts all over again and you wonder how did we end
Up here again?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The same nerves as you walk to the ground,
The heartbeat getting faster whenever the whistle blows,
The cunning ability of time to feel achingly slow or soothingly fast
Depending on momentum.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And all you want to do is get to the next round,
So you can do it all over again.
