Stuey Byrne achieves legendary status

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 All the hurt, all the names,
All the stress of recent games,
All the poison, all the bile
Spewed out by the rank and file.
Accusations that we’d cheated,
Though we knew we’d been mistreated
All came out in one big rush,
Making poor old Tony blush.
And in one impromptu burst,
Off the cuff and unrehearsed,
Stuey Byrne received the nod
And became a Shelbourne God.

Notes

In a rant immediately after the final whistle of Shelbourne’s championship winning final match of the season, Shels midfielder tore into departing Derry boss, Stephen Kenny. Reminiscent of Keegan’s “I’d love it…” interview, Stuey immediately went from Shels great to Shels legend.
