Assistants Assist

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Managers manage
Assistants assist
You’d have thought that
Recent history might have taught them that
But still they persist
And insist that they can never seem to resist
From trying to replicate that old Anfield boot room model
Which ultimatley turms out to be so much twaddle.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And the outgoing Manager’s probably partly to blame
Because the last thing he wants to happen once of himself he’s got rid. Is someone to come along & do everything a little bit better than he ever did. So, he pushes forward his assistant’s name & the Directors bite his hand off expecting more of the same.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And pubically the players say lots of supportive things & then meet with their agents to see what their future might bring. And then get out their mobile phones, to whisper to anyone who listens, ‘You’ll never guess who they’ve put in charge! The bloke who puts out the cones.’
