BAD FRIDAY : JUNE 21ST

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 No one ever knew
And would never have guessed
The reason why I am depressed!
The two nil win by the USA
Sent Mexico reeling, on their way
An end, I think is so unfair
A team with talent and some flair!
But still, I know that this Friday
England’s loss will end their stay
In a distant, far East, Asian land
Where fate has dealt a ruthless hand,
To reach this point, to get so far
Then fall face first in Shizuoka!
An ill wind blew, and caused a chill
By losing to the Boys of Brazil!
England’s hopes and dreams, forsooth
Were struck down in their early youth!
Despite the gloom, there is no denial
We’d rather lose now, than in the Cup Semi Final!
Now is the winter of our discontent
A World Cup win for us, not meant!
