Big Up To Leicester City.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A quite wonderful season
That really takes some believing
Is about to draw to it’s close
Where a team and a man
Has proved that chalices can
Be won without shed-loads of dough.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We can make all the excuses
As our reasons for losing
Berating the ref being one
Yet Ranieri simply bears it and grins
Shrugs it off as part of the business
and gets back with his team on the bus.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 At last a man with some real moral fibre
Has climbed and conquered The Eiger
Known as The Premier League
While has passion, nouse, and humor
Bode well for the future
If he can hold on the stars in his team?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So a big up Leicester
and the much traveled court jester
Whom the hacks – here – have ridiculed in the past
At the top of the league
Where I’m quite certain he
Is as is his way, modestly…having the last laugh!

One of the games true remaining gentlemen, gets his deserved and long overdue success as his team win the league on merit because they were quite simply the best…team. Proving that the team ethic, obvious enjoyment, skill and hard work will eventually overcome the cheque-book quest for success, that might well be on the wane in this country, as I see it, and long may it continue.

Claudio – whose progamme notes notes when he managed us ended with…”Together with all our hearts” – broke The Indian sign hanging over us away one night over at The Arsenal. When we beat them in The Champions League and for that game alone he will always be an eighteen carat diamond to my mind!

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.
