1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 He liked his football, all the same,
Enjoyed the rhythm of the game,
And thus, this Polish lad became
A Goalie.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But this young man played different roles –
On Saturdays, he might save goals,
But Sundays were for saving souls –
A Holy Goalie.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And though his efforts never ceased,
And, through experience, increased,
He still remained a humble priest –
A Lowly Holy Goalie.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Slowly, though, he put on pounds,
Though active on his priestly rounds.
They noticed it at football grounds –
A Roly-Poly Lowly Holy Goalie.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 At first, he’d just a little bump
Upon his belly and his rump,
But then he got completely plump –
A Wholly Roly-Poly Lowly Holy Goalie.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 In this he was a man unique.
No other priest of this physique
Would play between the sticks each week –
A Wholly Roly-Poly Lowly Holy Goalie,
Solely.
