(A Tribute)
‘Written after that fateful night,
When Marc was taken from our sight,
FOREVER’

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Marc Vivien,
He has been taken from us into oblivion,
Marc Vivien Foe,
He was a friend not a foe,
Oh why, why, why was it his time to go?
He is now sitting at God’s right hand,
It was his time to leave this poor, cruel mortal land,
If he was a captain, he would have to give up his armband.
He collapsed in the middle of the pitch,
Or was he hexed by a witch?
He is from Cameroon,
On his way to heaven, he flew past the moon,
Well I do declare,
He was not harsh, but fair,
A rather equitable footballer I might add,
He was a family man, very seldom bad,
So this was the life that Marc Vivien Foe had,
Don’t worry, he wouldn’t want you to feel sad,
Many a goal did he bag,
He was too sensible ever to smoke a fag,
He played for Man City,
Oh, what a pity,
Although he was always willing to put money in the kitty,
He worked so hard in midfield, that
Indeed in the end, he did have to yield,
In the middle of that fateful field.
In the end, he died for his country’s sake,
In the aftermath behind him he left sadness in his wake,
God felt it time for his life to end,
He was an excellent free kick taker, he had rather a lot of bend,
We all loved him very much, he had a rather equitable first touch,
Fate is a fickle friend,
Why did his life have to end?
Good-bye Marc, we do hark,
Yesterday you had to die,
We say, bye, bye, bye.
