1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Finally there, through a season’s slog – we’ve made it.
Euphoria, elation, ecstacy, and now a new expectation.
Will we survive in the pool of sharks ? Or be torn apart,
Week on week – made fools of. Lost, no hopers; but
Maybe – just maybe – seventeenth place will be ours.
After all, that’s safety. We’ll get whacked by the top
Four, but who cares – so long as Mick and the boys
Deliver in the other thirty games. Points will be oh so
Precious, for sure.Wulfrunians the world over await,
And we’ll be on TV. Pundits will scoff, ridicule, mock
No doubt; but we are Wolves, with a history known to
Every fan by heart; Cullis, Doog, Bully; a noble heritage.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But we have a chance, earned the hard way. Table top
Since October – leaders from the front; chasers seen off.
It won’t be easy next time. Half a new team might just do –
But more than that, it’s guts and guile we’ll need. Still,
Maybe with youth to the fore the points will come. A
Breath of fresh air in gold and black, so get to know us
Folks – we’ll be around for nine months, at least. Longer,
If prayers are answered and the ball bounces our way.
It’s eternal hope, a yearning for the club we love to reclaim
Long lost limelight – a place in the sun, a ride on the gravy
Train; tickets will cost a fortune, but we’ve made it – Up..
And it tastes sweet. Wolverhampton Wanderers are back.
