You chopped me down

You chopped me down,
The crowd went wild
You stretched your arms
Out like a child.
Your big black eyes
Evinced surprise.
I saw you smirk
And I was riled.

It made me sick
The way you kicked me.
You were feeling thick
And so you picked me.

You chopped me down
Without a thought,
‘Twas all done in
The name of sport.
And though it jarred,
There was no card
For me there was
But one retort.

I can see my friend
What you intended.
At the bitter end,
Red mist descended.

I chopped you down.
I lost the head.
You writhed and rolled
And then played dead.
The whistle’s blast
Came very fast.
I saw the card.
The card was red.

A dreadful sin,
My head was spinning
I saw you grin
At my disciplining.

Knew then and there
You’d won unfairly.
I grabbed your hair
And punched you squarely.
