The ultimate protest

The Klingons launched a deadly raid
From eighty light years hence.
Brave Earthmen faced them, unafraid,
Their faces grim and tense.

The missiles zapped out back and forth,
Explosions flashed through space.
From west to east, from south to north,
There died the human race.
¶ 3

The Klingons stared long at the void
Where once the earth had stood,
And mourned a species now destroyed,
A mass of skin and blood.

Then shrugged and turned back from the fire
With purposeful precision.
How sad such carnage should transpire
From one offside decision.
