Anfield Ices

I have this little ice cream cart, it sits outside The Kop
You can see me every matchday wearing my Liverpool top
I call it Anfield Ices , the ice creams are really nice
They’re cool like our big centre half , Big Virg was worth his price.

My customers are all Kopites , Liverpool born and bred
And when I ask “What flavour” they all say strawberry red
Some they want some sprinkles, some they want some sauce
I have this special cone called KLOPP,  named after our special boss.

Some fans they want ice lollies, some fans they want a tub
They’ve all one thing in common, Liverpool Football Club
The 99s are popular,a treat for some of their mates
They eat them with their scarves on right next to The Shankly Gates.

I have a cover for my cart it hasn’t any words
Just a plain white background with 2 red Liverbirds
The wheels they are all painted red, need to be changed, they’re rather old
6 stars sit in the middle, they’re a lovely shade of gold.

Some cones they do get broken, in the bin they have to go
And in our trophy room this year, 4 trophies are on show
The Premier League is ours this year, we’ve waited 30 years
But now it sits there pride of place just next to old “Big Ears”.

Champions wrap up historic season

Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool

Steve Bruce will breath easy
We were kind to the big Geordie
Rapier like seeking 99 points
It’s the biggest in our history

We even had a party pooper
Dwight Gayle after half a minute
26 seconds, Virg and Origi hit back
They just don’t know when to quit

Champions League and then the Title
Matching the 1981 vintage side
Mane rounds it off for 3-1
We may never ever witness such a ride

My Da Bought Me A T Shirt

My Da bought be a t shirt, it’s red with a white trim
He said “be proud and wear it son and love the colours just like him”
He couldn’t wait to get it in the local football shop
Just around the corner from the famous Spion Kop

My Da bought me a t shirt, on one side is the liverbird
I have a few collected now but this one is well preferred
Underneath the liverbird sit 3 letters L.F.C.
A football team that we both love, steeped in history.

My Da bought me a t shirt, the embroidery the best by far
And on one side of the short sleeve sit 6 little stars
They are there to constantly remind us of being Europe’s kings
There’s not another club like ours whose songs I’d rather sing

My Da bought me a t shirt, it’s nice ‘n loose, not tight
I think I’ll wear this one in May, not on a European night
Opposite the liverbird there’s two numbers 1 and 9
They represent our titles won, it sure looks mighty fine.

My Da bought me a t shirt, I’ll wear it in my Anfield Church
“CHAMPIONS” is printed on the back, that’s right we’re back on our perch
I’ll wear it every Saturday as long as it doesn’t rain
To remind me of this season, a relentless Red campaign.

The Anfield Express

Hop on board The Anfield express, a train bound for Liverpool
Where you’ll see fast flowing football and the players will make you drool.
The train it has 4 carriages, each named after a place
And when you think back on the memories a smile will takeover your face.

The first carriage is called MADRID where the reds they overcame Spurs
And won European Cup number 6 which you can see in the club’s museum tours.
That was to be the first of a remarkable 4 trophies that Hendo would have to lift up
The first of his captain’s shuffles started off with the European Cup

Carriage number 2 is called ISTANBUL, the European Super Cup the prize
Another all english affair against Chelsea, would the Liverbird once again rise.
After a penalty shootout with nothing between the 2 teams
It was Hendo’s second opportunity to shuffle, the stuff of boyhood dreams.

DOHA is the name of carriage number 3, a city way out in Qatar
The Reds aiming to be World Champions, a feat that’s eluded them so far.
In the final they beat Flamengo with all their Brazilian flair
And Hendo would shuffle his feet once more while raising another trophy in the air.

The 4th carriage is simply called ENGLAND where the Reds are Kings of the land
Led by a magical German with a fabulous footballing wand.
He has changed us from doubters to believers, he has taken us back to the top
He has brought The Premier League trophy right onto The Spion Kop
We have waited so long to be Champions, always reminded its been 30 years
But, The Liverbird stands tall once more, that’s what other clubs fear.
No longer can they say that to us nor mention the Stevie G slip
As we are CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND, KINGS OF THE PREMIERSHIP.
The fans watched Hendo’s last shuffle from the comfort of their own home
Singing along to our anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.
If you’d like to know more of our history, just do a little Google search
I already know whst it says though, THE REDS ARE BACK ON THEIR PERCH.

The Ghost Derby

Everton 0-0 Liverpool

Live games return to Merseyside
Football without fans is nothing
Moise Kean’s cameo the highlight
Minus Salah the Reds lack sting

Contemplation for those we’ve lost
All present are taking the knee
Proclaiming “Black Lives Matter!”
United at the ghost derby

Richarlison thunders the strikers mosaic
The Goodison star strikers screen
Into the Gwladys Street upper tier
Nearly took Dixie Dean out clean

Bobby seals it late at Plucky Palace

Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

Tomkins with a goal ruled out
But V. A. R sat and saw
Mane’s goal cancelled out
It seemed Zaha had rescued a draw

Liverpool on a record run
The Red Army continue to plow
Thirty games unbeaten
Dropping only two points till now

Bobby Firmino scores a late winner
‘Twas a hard fought win indeed
Klopp’s men leave Selhurst Park
Maintaining that eight point lead

Ruthless Reds rule the roost

Liverpool 3-1 Man City

City come out the cages fast
Lovren has Aguero in the pocket
Two handballs and the Reds break fast
Fabinho smashes a rocket

Salah lifts the lid of Anfield
It’s Liverpool adapting to the play
Hendo aims for the far post
For a killer third from Super Mane

When Silva makes it 3-1
Klopp and the Kop are no soft touch
Liverpool, Liverpool top of the League
From Pep it’s “thank you so much!”

Valiant Villa seen off late

Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool

Trezeguet did the trick
From McGinn’s free-kick
The Reds all over the shop

Robbo and Mane each a header
It was cruel on the Villa
We’ve a six point lead at the top

Fiery Foxes outfought

Liverpool 2-1 Leicester

It was late, so very late
Maddison, then Milner’s penalty
Liverpool nick it at the death
Injury time win over Leicester City

Brendan returned to Anfield
His Foxes burrowed a hole
Mane sets a new Reds benchmark
With a 50th top flight goal

Albrighton brings down Mane
VAR said it wasn’t fair
Klopp celebrates wildly
Rodgers turns away in despair

Chelsea challenge seen off at the Bridge

Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool

Trent will inspire
Unleashing a ball of fire
He’s easily the best of this crop

Firmino with number two
Kante turned the screw
But the Reds lead Pep’s boys at the top.
