A chorus of dissent

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When they bay for his head,
As they doubtlessly will,
With that small statuette still elusive,
It’s taken as read
That the cries will be shrill,
Dissonant, harsh and abusive.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The guitar will not weep,
The bow will not draw
And the trumpet won’t mournfully moan,
And the cello so deep
Will be silent once more
With his friend, the morose saxophone.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Unaccompanied then,
The harsh voices will ring.
Once struck, destined never to mellow.
Oh how tuneless do men
Xenophobically sing
When they have to perform a capello.

Notes

I’m sure he knows what he’s letting himself in for.
