Be nice to the referee

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 ‘Offside,’ says the referee,
The goal it will not stand.
We in the crowd did not agree,
An explanation we did demand.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But the referee will not explain
The decision he has made.
He says, ‘I have travelled in the rain
To ensure this game get’s played.’

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 ‘So you should show some gratitude
And not be rude to me.
Drop the surly attitude
Be nice to the referee.’

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 ‘Be nice to the referee,’ we said,
It was a novel idea.
Shout nice things to him instead
And each decision we will cheer.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We decided that we would try it
For the novelty.
We’re sure we wouldn’t mind a bit,
Being nice to the referee.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So we shouted nice things
And nothing behind his back.
We commented on the joy he brings
And shouted, ‘Who’s the nice guy in the black?’

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 But after a while that this was done
We decided it felt incorrect.
It really wasn’t any fun
Not like we did expect.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 So we would revert, we did decide,
Back to our original position.
Disagreeing with any decision against our side
Even if it is the correct decision.

Notes

Once during a work game, the referee approached the subs bench’s of both teams, (Obviously that was where I was situated) and told us if we were’nt nicer to him he’ll leave and default the game?
