Bore Draw

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 At Bloomfield Road on a cabbage patch
I watched a really dreadful match.
A nil all draw against the mighty Pool.
Reffed by an aging black-clad fool.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The pies were stale the loos were dirty
a security man was rude and shirty.
No goal-mouth drama to stir the soul
no scintillating shots on goal.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 No atmosphere, no funny chants
both teams ran round like headless ants.
The full-time whistle finally came,
to end this truly awful game.

Notes

This was an important game for both teams last season for different reasons. PNE were pushing for promotion while Blackpool were desperate for points to avoid relegation. Nerves must have affected both teams who are also arch-rivals and the match was a dead loss.
