Notes

Cherita (pronounced CHAIR-rita) is the Malay word for ‘story’ or ‘tale’ and grew out of the haiku and tanka traditions of brevity. It was developed by ai li, the founding editor of ‘still’, a journal of short verse, in 1997. A cherita consists, according to its creator, of a single stanza of one-line verse, followed by a two-line verse, and then finishing with a three-line verse. Visit http://www.thecherita.com
