Chesterfield at Home

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I know what you’re thinking, Hoops;
Two games in… two painful losses;
ahead of Bromley, but points are equal,
a brace from Parker spares our blushes
and off the bottom keeps us.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Forty-four games still to play,
a hundred and thirty-two points to play for.
Next one up, though, Chesterfield –
what’s the best that we can hope for?
Feel sorry for our keepers…

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But then again, it’s Tuesday night
and under lights we’re something special!
Here at home at Court Place Farm,
time to show our full potential;
leave the Spireites speechless,

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 and send the fans home,
wired and sleepless.

Notes

Oxford City FC – the minnows in the National League – are two games into their first season in the National League… zero points on the board, but showed sone right in the last game… however, tonight it’s Chesterfield, one of the definite favourites for promotion, and of course we worry we might be zero points in three after this.

But then again, it’s a Tuesday night under the lights….
