Costly miss.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Coloccini slips up
Chopra is through
Beat the keeper
That’s all he has to do.
Harper comes out
To narrow the angle
Chopra’s nerves
Go jingle jangle.
He hesitates
The chance has gone
Geordie voices
Rise in song.
He looks towards
The Leazes end
And recalls when he
Was one of them.
And tomorrow morning
He’ll leave on a train
To join up with Cardiff
Once again.

Notes

I jotted these thoughts down after listening to a north east radio phone in programme after the game when a irate fan came on and said that in his view ex Newcastle striker Michael Chopra spurned the chance on purpose which I thought extremely harsh. Chopra left Sunderland less than 24 hours later to return to Cardiff. Michael always gaves 100% every game and I wish him all the best at Cardiff.
