Coventry City Football Club

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A new football team was formed
in the year of eighteen eighty three,
calling themselves Singers Football Club
but now known as Coventry City F.C.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Fast forward to the present day
what a long journey it has been,
when winning the F.A.Cup
would become a reality and not a dream.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But every fan has a favourite era
and each supporter a special time,
winning promotion to the First Division
under Jimmy Hill has got to be mine.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And who is the City’s best ever player
Mason, Bourton, the keeper Alf Wood ?
what about Hudson,or Tommy Hutchison,
Ferguson and Wallace now they were good.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But it’s not just a long list of players
who have represented C.C.F.C. with pride,
there’s been a lot of managers as well
with Steven Pressley now in charge of the side.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 And let’s not forget all the loyal supporters
what a great set of fans they truly are,
wearing the Sky Blue so proudly
and travelling the country no matter how far.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 And what a long history we have got
with times of high and many lows,
but the Sky Blue flag is still flying
they’ve ridden the storms and took the blows.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 So from Highfield Road to the Ricoh Arena
and the Bantams becoming the Sky Blues,
so while we all sing together
we shall never lose !
