Delia Smith

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I have to admit to a change of affection for Delia Smith
I don’t like all that cooking lark on the telly
Posh chefs and all that nonsense
Whilst half the world starves
I’ve no appetite for that kind of rank hypocrisy
But Delia’s call to arms
The kind of passion rarely seen
Wrapped up in an old playground joke about
Where coppers live (think about it…)
Made me hunger for the Shanklyisms of yore
Who’d not mind a bit if their chairmen/women
Pulled on the boots and added spice
By staking claims to football fandom
Apart from waving cheques and threats
But wrapped in scarves came down from high horses
And pleaded from the bottom of a bottle of cooking sherry
Not for money but for songs
And a show of support.

Notes

Norwich City Fans, that Delia girl’s a diamond.
